APARTMENTS AROUND TOWN CENTRE
With the recent approval of the town center shops and the announcement of Woolworths securing the supermarket position, a review of the surrounding medium density master plan has started. We are committed to establishing a vibrant and viable town centre for the residents of Watagan Park to enjoy into the future, which includes good road networks to provide alternative transport options such as pedestrian connectivity and bus networks, good access to community facilities, good dining options, opportunities for commercial offices and/or home business and a higher density of residential population in its immediate surrounds.
Woolworths are buoyed by the fact that Johnson Property Group and Lake Macquarie City Council are proposing amendments to the planning controls to increase building height around the town centre to accommodate multi-level private residential apartments. Whilst this area of the site was originally earmarked for increased density, further intensification will ensure a continued level of vibrancy, activity, and surveillance around the town centre, particularly during traditional non- working hours.
