MEET

Kerri-Lee

My name is Kerri-Lee Krause and I am the President and Vice-Chancellor of Avondale University. After studying secondary teaching at Avondale College (as it was then) in the 1980s, I spent the next 3 decades working in universities across Australia and internationally. Having travelled extensively, I never dreamed I would return to what used to be known as ‘sleepy, rural Cooranbong’.

It’s great to be back here, living and working in this beautiful place. Cooranbong has managed to retain is charm and close-knit community feel, while developing into a vibrant precinct with plenty of walking and bike tracks, coffee shops, eco-tourism attractions and its very own community rose garden! My husband and I love the lifestyle here. One of many highlights is the daily journey down University Drive. Having lived in cities for many years, I appreciate the calming rhythms of the seasonal changes and the beauty of this special place.

My ambition is to see Avondale University becoming even more relevant to our local community as we continue to grow and develop. It’s wonderful to see people of all ages coming together in this unique and thriving living and learning community and I’m so pleased to be part of it.

LEARN MORE ABOUT
AVONDALE UNIVERSITY

Avondale University has been in integral part of the Cooranbong community for 126 years. In that time, it has progressively moved from College to University status and we are now very proud that the beautiful Lake Macquarie region can call itself a University city.

Established by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1897, Avondale’s pioneering heritage is one of creating opportunities for all students to transform their lives and their communities through the power of education.

Avondale Is now one of Australia’s top-tier universities rated number one for overall educational experience (The Good Universities Guide 2024). We specialise in preparing students for careers across a range of areas and we look forward to welcoming our Cooranbong community to our campus.
